2016 Meeting of History and Philosophy of Education, Tallinn University
June 9-10, Tallinn, Estonia.

The Future of The History and Philosophy of Education
All over the world education is seen as an essential means to maintain cohesion and dynamics in a society. Remarkable resources have been allocated in schooling, teacher training and educational research. But why education is seen so important? The purpose of this meeting is to discuss in which way the history and philosophy of education could take part in the search of different meanings of education.
The programme will include keynote lectures and paper sessions. Paper sessions will be organized on the basis of abstracts. Each paper will be allocated 30 minutes (presentation 15-20 minutes, discussion 15-10 minutes).
The meeting is hosted by The School of Educational Sciences (Tallinn University) and the people in charge are professor Airi Liimets and associate professor Tiiu Kuurme. This is also the 12th Annual Meeting of The Finnish Network of the History and Philosophy of Education, which is a Sig-group in FERA (The Finnish Educational Research Association; see http://kasvatus.net/).
The seminar language is English. However, in the paper sessions Estonian and Finnish can also be used.
Abstracts of 1250 characters (with spaces) or less should be sent to the organizing committee via Registration e-Form before April 30th, 2016. Notifications of acceptance will be communicated latest in May 15th 2016,

EARLY BIRD registration before the end of February 2016: There is available non-expensive accommodation nearby the University. In order to make a reservation you have to registrate yourself before the end of February.
